How to Use Orchestral Soundfonts

I'm having trouble with an orchestral soundfont and I want to learn to use it. Will you help?

You'll need to add it to the "SoundFonts" folder which is included in your MuseScore2 folder in your computer. Then after opening MuseScore, load the SoundFont on the Synthesizer.

Sorry digging through previous replies to questions and this was the closest I saw...

I see here and in the documentation that you can drag new SoundFonts into the ~/Documents/MuseScore2/Soundfonts directory. I was about to drag some sfz files to it when I noticed that there is another directory called ~/Documents/MuseScore2/SFZ. Is that where sfz files should go instead? If not, what is the folder for?

TiA!

Well... all of the other folders have the same date/time stamp (Images, Plugins, Scores, SFZ, Soundfonts, Styles, Templates), I didn't know these directories even existed until I decided today to install Soundfonts, I had never heard of sfz files until today, and I have been using MuseScore on my Mac for quite some time. Is there any chance this is a legacy issue from an installer for MacOS? The time stamp is December 2014.

In the meantime, I will use the Soundfonts folder!

Thanks!

Concerning this info about how to install the sound font of Orch - I did place it the mixer as a default. I think I made mistake about to do that because no other fonts from the appear in the instr sections. Can you help?

You will have to scroll down if you want other SoundFonts samples providing all appear in the Synthesizer.
If let's say you have SGM at the top, then HQ Orchestral, then Fluid R3 Mono, the samples will list as follows
SGM Samples
HQ Orchestral Samples
Fluid R3 Samples.

They don't list by section but by samples.
