Huh? Isn't that the whole point of exporting score and parts?
I assume you mean, a single PDF file contains score & all parts but no individual parts files as well? No way to do this that I know of, but it's easy enough to delete after the fact of course.

Can't you just select "export" and not "export parts" ?
Works for both MIDI and PDF for me.
I am new to this... am I missing something here?

"Export" gives you the score only, not a single PDF with both score and parts combined.
If your aim is to have the full score and the individual parts in a single pdf by using MuseScore, at least a (a little bit inconvenient) workaround would be to save the parts as mscz, removing the parts from the main score and using the album manager for printing the album as pdf file.
