Unconnected ties (laissez vibrer, l.v., lascia vibrare)
I've read the discussions of this, but every time I try to to do this by entering a note and then the + sign, I either get nothing or a second tied note. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried using a slur instead of a tie?
That's the way I have got around this in the past.

Yes, you need a slur - or the symbol from the symbols palette - to create this notation in 1.X. 2.0 will have the ability to use the tie for this purpose.

Thanks! It appears that I need to use both methods as the seven eighth notes after the rest are slurred.
