when there is a new post in the forum, or a change in the handbook, in the table of contents, could be changed the color (from blue to green / red).
To exaggerate: One blink?
You can think?

how should the server know whether something is new to the user, if that user is not logged on?

Ah, now I see what you mean. Problem: these typ of *new* flags tend to become stale quite quickly, if they have to be maintained manually, and for them to be automatic, the server software (drupal?) needs to support this

I still don't get It. To a casual visitor, *everything* is new. Posts are often added to the Forum or Issue tracker every few minutes, every few hours at most. When would it *not* be appropriate to flag the forum or issue tracker as "new"?

I could see this being meaningful for the Handbook and other sections that are updated less frequently, though.

Thank you for your attention.
I used MuseScore before login, for my scores.
I visited the site for my problems, small in truth because I'm not a musician.
Is a program that has given me so much.
Sometimes looking in the handbook, sometimes in the forum, I was able to solve them.
But when you have not much time can be handy have a signal.
Now I'm registered, if I write in the forum I get an email (sometimes two, identical).
But not all those who use the software are interested to login. So, if there was a way, I think it would be helpful.
Often a professional gives many things for granted (I think of those who find it difficult to save a file or attach a device), beginners seek an help (and often do not want to study a lot) or an answer.
If one has a problem with the midi and see the word "resolved" on the home page goes willingly to read the post.

But I don't want to profit from your patience, a friendly greeting, Franz.
