Extra beats

See the 2 images. #2 is what I was trying to enter. I got it fixed by inserting 2 bars and changing how I entered it.

As best as I can remember, these are the STR:
Enter the fist 1/2 of the bar in Voice 1.
Go back and enter voice 2
Copy 1st beat of bar and paste on beat 3
Enter last beat in voice 1
Go to last 1/6th of beat 3, voice 2. CtrlN. Select voice 2, 1/16 duration.
Use + to try to tie beat 3 to beat 4.

Once the bar is corrupted there seems no way to change it, hence my work around.
