You can grab a nightly build from the download page (scroll down). But be aware that these are not ready for 'production' mode.
They are however indicative whether a bug report is due or not.

thanks for the reply, i do not understand what you mean...
I deleted and re-added the violin staff but the problem persists.
this "nightly build" has to be compiled, right?
is my file broken? can it be fixed?
thank you, i am not much of a whizzkid realy :)
In reply to thanks for the reply, i do by aeLiXihr
The nighly builds don't need to get compiled, hence 'build' in their name ;-)

I don't think your file is broken, more likely you hit a bug in MuseScoro, and apparently one that ceased to exist in recent nightly builds.

okay, thank you!
So I download the file and then what? (i do not want to ruin MS)
And why did you choose 35650ee? (from the about 20 listed)
Thanks!

read and follow the instruction os the page I mentioned. the nightly bild does not interfer with rhe 'official' version, so they can be installed and used at the same time.
I picked 35650ee, because that was the latest version available for Windows at the time I tested.

I downed the mscore-2013-01-05-15-42-4f9d80a.bz2 file, right clicked and did "extract here"
now i have a .tar file
what should i open it with? (i am on ubuntu 12.04)
In reply to thank you!I downed the .bz2 by aeLiXihr
make it exacuable and execute it. It is just one big binary with everything embedded inside.

thank you,
"make it exacuable"
:? dunno how...
I found this:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fileextensions/f/tar-file.htm
looks like it still is a compressed format?
what was the .bz2 file?
which one should be made executable? or is this a MS-Windows thing?
Thanks!
In reply to thank you, "make it by aeLiXihr
.tar is jist a part of a filename, don't let this trick you into believin that it really is a tar archive.
'chmod +x filename' is the command line to make 'filename executable, and that is not a Windows- but a UNIX/Linux thing
