Possibility to save the mixer settings for further reuse

• May 8, 2017 - 09:09

For choir SATB working files we often create 4 different MP3 files in order for each section to work separately their part.
To do that, we have to successively change the settings before exporting the MP3s.

For example, the MP3 working file for bass would typically use 100% volume and a sound : Oboe, while Soprano, Alti and Tenor would be set at 50% volume and Ahh Choir sound

So in order to create file for another section, we have to swap settings and this has to be done for all the 4 sections, and again and again for other pieces of music.

Though, it would really be interesting to have the possibility to save the mixer settings in a set in order to recover them very easily at any time through a list and apply it on other pieces of music.

Thanks for considering

Best regards

As it is you can already save a score to the "template" directory and then create a new score with that template, in which case that new score will have the same mixer volume settings.

But what you say is not necessarily a bad idea. What would be the best way to work that into musescore and to work with scores of different instrumentation? Would you want a button on the mixer settings to save? But then that would only work for the exact same instrumentation...

Indeed, this would be perfect!

In this case I could have for example the 4 differents sets below:
---
Soprane : The soprane voice would be played at 100% volume with a Oboe sound while other section would be be played at 50% volume with a Ahh choir sound.

Alto: The Alto voice would be played at 100% volume with a Oboe sound while other section would be be played at 50% volume with a Ahh choir sound.

Tenor : The tenor voice would be played at 100% volume with a Oboe sound while other section would be be played at 50% volume with a Ahh choir sound.

Bass: The soprane voice would be played at 100% volume with a Oboe sound while other section would be be played at 50% volume with a Ahh choir sound.
---

So for each piece of music using same instruments, it could be very easy to apply these settings before exporting the MP3 files for the benefit of each section.

Well, even if we apply a "mixer set" on a piece where some other instruments exist , we could imagine that only instruments existing in the set would be applied the settings.

On the contrary, if we apply a set made with several instruments on a piece where only one instrument is scored, the settings pertaining to this instrument would be applied, others would be overlooked.
