Copy/Paste crashes programme sometimes
When copying from the score to a part, I get " mscore.exe has stopped working A problem caused the program from working properly , Windows will close the program "
I am using on version 1.3. and I am running windows 7
It does not happen all the time but often enough to drive me a little crayzeee.
Often when it happens I'll run "Advanced Systen Care" to clean out any registry errors and general rubbish etc that might have been affecting it. However this morning I've not done anything on the computer, loaded MScore to copy just one bar of a part from the score and ZAP!
It doesn't seem to matter whether its to a transposing instrument or a "concert" instrument
It doesn't tend to happen when copying bars from and to the same part (ie not from the score)
I could not find any other issues of this type when I searched other than one from 2009. If no one else is having this problem then I suspect its something to do with my computer?

It could be something with the score or part you are working on. Could you attach a couple of simple files and exact steps to reproduce the problem?

Hi
I've deleted all but the first page of my score to make it nice and small.
I've just tried to copy bar 8 from the score to the bass part (yes I know they are the same but thats because I've done it all by "hand" earlier) and it crashed again.
Method
I highlight the relevant bar(s) in the score, CTRL C, place cursor in the required bar in the part, CTRL V....... then the crash (usually)
Thanks for any help

Actually, you may have deleted all but the first page of your score, but then you posted the backup version - filename started with a period, ended with a comma - so it was actually the full score. So do be careful about that in future - not just posting to forums, but any time you want to send someone a copy of a score, make a copy for whatever reason, etc. Don't get fooled by the backup copy - use the real file. Anyhow, it of course demonstrates the problem perfectly well.
I've seen this from time to time as well. Never copy and paste within a score - only between scores. I kind of suspect it has something to do with chord symbols, although I can't prove it - it's not like it always fails with chord symbols or always works otherwise. But it does seem to happen more often with rhythm section parts.

Thanks Mark but it also happens when I copy say a Trombone part (well any part really). Its just not consistently crashing. But as I said earlier, enough to make me the wrong side of pleased.

@Marc: are you sure about copy/paste within vs. to/from outsdide? My experience is the exact opposite, within it never failed on my, from outside often. Esp. when trying to combine several scores into one (yes, the album feature would help here ;--)

Sorry, I think I worded that very poorly. When I wrote "Never copy and paste within a score - only between scores", I meant, "*I never experience problems with* copy and paste within a score - only between scores". It wasn't meant as advice not to copy within a score - quite the contrary!
