How do I create piano to start piece, then (after 10 bars), have tenor (treble clef 8)) and bass voice (bass clef) above piano?

I am not sure how to create a piano (two staves) at the start of piece for 10 bars, then followed by tenor voice (8 treble), voice bass (bass clef) plus piano (two staves) for rest of piece. Do I create tenor, bass and piano in the set up of the file and enter the piano notes for 10 bars then hide tenor and bass bars? Then carry on entering tenor/bass/piano. Similarly, if I decide to have the same situation in the middle of the piece, repeat the process? Is this the accepted way to do this?

But will the hidden bars (tenor/bass) leave an unwanted space?

I ask the above since I have found that, if I delete, for example, the tenor top line, to see if that will work, deleting the tenor bars, deletes all the measure below (including piano)!

Create all the staves you need, enter all the notes you want, then use 'hide empty staves' (works better if being clever about where to place line breaks)

One thing, thougn - hiding the top staff can create problems with the display of certain items normally displayed on the top staff, like voltas, measure numbers (I think). So as a workaround, you might try putting the piano staff on top. I think this is mostly fixed for 2.0?

Thanks. For most of the piece the tenor and bass voice would preferably be above piano - but to start with and in the middle, there is a part for solo piano. So during those bits, there is no need for voices? If I put piano above to start with, will it not mean it remains above for the rest of the piece, which I would prefer to avoid?
