placing of dynamics
Dynamics always appear to the right of the note, so I have to move them. Is there a way of making them appear to the left?

Menu -> Style -> Edit Text Style ... -> Dynamics -> Offset X
Which is 0 by default, so the dynamic should be above the note, not to the right
Unless you're using some template (or style sheet) that has different settings.

That's how it *should* work, but unfortunately, text style seems to be ignored for dynamics in 1.X. At leats it is for me, with 1.3 on Windows 7. Text style works for most other elements. I think text repeat markings (DS, etc) also have issues.

I've tried this, and it doesn't work, so I'll be continuing to drag them.

Doesn't right-click-> properties -> (settings) + tick "apply to all similar" help?
