Voltas and repeats played at different volumes
I am on the music team for Distributed Proofreaders. We recreate public domain books for online publication through Project Gutenberg. Part of our work is to provide midi files for each piece. Notations often include different volumes for repeats and voltas. It would be nice to have different volumes available to those who are only able to listen to audio versions of the books.

Currently you'd need to create a score with 'unroled' repeats to render the audio for the repeats differently/correctly

Unrolled repeats make it sound right, but don't make it look right. I'll have to think about making an unrolled version for the audio and a silent version for display in the book. Thanks for all your help, Jojo.

That's what I mean, you need 2 versions, one for the look and another for the sound

I made a sneaky attempt, but it seems the dynamic applied under a volta isn't honored upon the repeat either. Which seems to have the same root cause as #188436: Dynamics in alternate endings play incorrectly (midi out)
So somehow fixing that would make this workaround possible.

Thanks, Jojo.
