Two voices playing whole notes in unison

It doesn't appear like it's possible to stack whole notes on the same pitch side by side. This is what I want:

But no matter what I do I can only have one visible whole note and ties on both sides. While this is adequate I was hoping there was a way to accomplish what I asked.

You can get this. Enter the two whole notes, then double click one (won't matter which, so whichever gets selected) and use the arrow keys to move it sideways. Ctrl-arrow gives finer movement, alt-arrow finer still.
