instruments tacet for an entire movement
I would like to ask some advice on how to deal with tacets.
An example: In the second movement of a concerto, perhaps all instruments are tacet except soloist and bass. After separating the parts, how is it possible to remove the empty staves from the tacet instruments in just this one movement while leaving the staves of the non-tacet instruments in place. Is it possible to make staff lines invisible for a small selection?
I should say that all movements have been created in a single file, not separately.
Thanks in advance.

"Hide empty staves", and in those places you want to have them visible, put in a note in a voice other than 1 and make that invisible and silent
"Hide Empty Staves" will hide the empty staves in your score. The parts will have long tracts of empty measures converted to multi-measure rests by default. If you have some special case needed then please elaborate and post an example score.

Thanks for your reply.
Here is the score I am working on.
The problem is the second polonaise. Violin 1, 2, and viola parts. Page 5 of violin 1 part, for example.
But this problem has come up quite a lot, so it would be nice to know a solution.
Ideally, instead of the empty bars, I would like to see Double - Tacet.
Thanks again.
The easiest way is to hide empty staves. A potential undesirable result with that is that every page that has no notes on a staff will have that staff hidden. If this is not desirable, you can force a staff to be visible by putting a note in an unused voice and making that note invisible and and make it not play in the inspector. I would use a single note that takes up the entire measure if possible. This of course is difficult, but possible, in a time signature like 5/8. The reason I use a single whole measure note is to prevent the layout from changing if all the other instruments play a whole note and only require setting a single note to invisible. Once you go through this process in one measure, you can easily copy it to a measure of any instrument you want since the note doesn't matter.

I do this also, but it doesn't have the same effect once you have separated the parts.

If you want to separate the parts you will need to separate the parts first, then add the invisible note and hide empty staves. To separate parts, first extract the parts then select the each part tab and save as. This will give you a file for each part. Then use the hide empty staves and invisible notes for the full score.
Unfortunately there is no way to do it otherwise. If you have the movement with only an invisible note, you will have a measure, then a multi-measure rest. I don't think that's what you want.
