Mp3, and dubstep

• Nov 5, 2013 - 14:16

Hello I use musescore in order to compose music for the games I am working on creating. I would personally like to be able to save as mp3 files. The wav files are just to big to be practical in my situation. Also I was wondering if you had or could add some instruments for dubstep such as sin wave. If they are in there and I am overlooking them I am sorry, but I have not seen them.

The next version will be able to export as MP3, with additional help of the LAME library. You can check now, by downloading and testing a nighly build.

You can also easily convert WAV to MP3 using a variety of free tools like Audacity or others. Or save from MuseScore in FLAC format, which is considerably smaller than WAV.

As for sine wave, by default MuseScore includes whatever General MIDI defines as standard. To see the full list of sounds, open Display / Mixer and check out the dropdown. If you want other sounds above and beyond what General MIDI defines, or want better versions of the General MIDI sounds, you can install whatever soundfont you like - see Soundfont .
