make stem shorter for eight of my many notes
I have eight stems in my slightly crowded score.
If they were slightly shorter, they wouldn't cover parts of lyrics.
Is there a way to easly do this manually?

Maybe the settings on https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#style-edit-gene… help? Or move the lyrics lower, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#style-edit-gene…

I suppose I wasn't quite clear enough.
The question is: "can I shorten eight stems individually maybe manually?"
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

To adjust stem length a stem, double click and drag the handle. But assuming your reason for doing this is so stems sticking outside the staves are shorter, you'd probably be better off adjusting the automatic stem-shortening settings in Style / General / Notes.

You can double click a stem and drag or use shift-up/down arrow or ctrl-up/down arrows to adjust them. You can aslo drag the box a that appears when you double click them.

Your suggestions helped me discover how to do it.
Thanks, in my situation double clicking to get the boxes was best,
