OmegaGMGS2 VS. Timbres of Heaven (in terms of clarity and accurateness)
I'm in a soundfont dilemma. From some people, I heard that Timbres of Heaven is better, on the other side, we have the lesser known OmegaGMGS2, who claims that it's better than even some commercial soundfonts. Can somebody help break this tie?

Every SoundFont has its own good and bad sides.
The comparison may be more relevant to which style you will use.
For example:
I use "masquerade" sounfont for General Midi (Guitar, Bass, Drums, String and a Solo instrument). Because their voices are very close to Sound Canvas55. (Old industy standard).
I use a SoundFont, for classical music. (which is my own conversion: VPO2 and SSO mix, GM compatible and sf2 format).
For some Jazz-drum arrangements, I use Omega SoundFont (an old version, not current version).
Of course it is also a matter of taste.
Someone likes a SoundFont, the other person doesn't.

I do like some of Timbres of Heaven, especially "Dons trombone" and the B flat trumpet. For me, they are distinctive compared to other GM. I cannot say they are consistent across range. But they sound the way I hear the instrument in a room or at a distance. The bass drum also booms nicely/ though I don't know if "booming nicely" is a substitute for accuracy :) But a natural, jazzier sound is preferable to the keyboard synth that is always lurking on the edge of many sounds
