change color of current note
Can I change this in my preferences. I didn't find a way. All the notes in the score are black, except for the selected/current note which is blue, i.e., the one being played or edited. When i press the forward or back arrows the next or previous note changes to blue. It is very difficult for me to find the blue note among all the black notes, especially when the page changes.
Can I change the selected not color to RED or GREEN to make it easier to see the contrast?
Thanks and kind regards
Jim

The color of the current note (or element) is hard coded into MuseScore, so you can't change it.
Only think you could to is use a different voice, voice 2 is green, voice 3 is yellow and voice 4 is red.
But then you'd have to live with rests in voice 1, which you can't delete

Does anyone else find this difficult to read? blue and black don't contrast very well. This is especially hard on large chords.

Yes, I find it very difficult to read, and impossible when the input cursor is on the same note.

Here is a screen shot. Can anyone find the selected note? It would be great if it were red, or green, or if the user could change the global selection color in his preferences.

You can toggle note entry mode on/off by hitting 'N'. Doing this will at least bring more focus to the 'blue' note - either by showing a bold blue cursor line (ver. 1.3) or a box (nightly) at that note.
Regards.
The voice colours are controlled from the Edit Preferences dialogue.

Oh, yes, in 1.x, seems I missed that. But not in the nightly builds, with the OP is apparently using.

There was no mention of nightly builds in the OP's post, so consequently I assumed he was using 1.x
Regarding the nightly builds: See my comments in the OP's feature request:

The screenshot was from a nightly ;-)
Ok, so all my notes are black except 3 notes which are a light green, not voice 2 green.

More notes of the same line are turning green.

You mean this muddy green? This is indicating that the note is inside the professional range but outside the amateur range. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input#coloring-of-notes-out-of-r…
