lilypond-like data entry to do in your favourite editor
Hi folks,
This is a newbie question:
Is there a way to create an input file for musescore to compile in say, vi or emacs and then submit to musescore to create output?
thanks
./pat

Check out http://web.mit.edu/music21/ which works nicely together with MuseScore.
MuseScore can read music XML files, so any program that can export XML files can be transferred to MuseScore. I don't know if the ones you refer to export to XML.
Depending how complex your scores are, you can also check ABC and the ABC import plugin in MuseScore.
If you are already comfortable with LilyPond, then you could try the MusicXML export facility in Frescobaldi. Not sure how robust it is. Otherwise, I'd recommend learning ABC, as it does have good converters available and it is much more friendly than attempting to write MusicXML by hand.
