Can I delete entire lyric verses in piano score
I have written nine verses between treble and bass, and
keeping the music clefs I want to make a few different scores with
different verses. There should be an easy way to delete a few
entire verses and have the gap space closed to take less page space.
How can I do this?

No way, sorry. Only deleting the last lines frees up space
That's very sad.
It should be an easy task for the Musescore programmer,
and very desirable for several reasons.

It's fairly easy but slow to select a lyric line one word at a time, but
is there a way to select the whole line at once?

but try this: hold Ctrl, click on the syllables (turn blue). When you have selected all: Delete

Thanks, holding control and click-selecting is the
way I was doing it but I didn't say it well. My real
problem is not being able to delete a blank lyric line.
Feels like a bug to me.

If you see a blank lyric line, there is presumably a space in the line

Not necessarily, if not the last verse it could just be empty syllables, like after having deleted them

It may also be a carriage return

only that you can't delete that...

click + ctrl-click + ctrl-click ...
Shift-mousedrag (if you manage to find the right spots to start)

I think what Jojo is referring to is "lasso select". Find an empty spot on the score and shift/mouse select an area that holds what you want to remove. It should select those elements within the lassoed area. Then delete.
