4 voices (per staff) is as much as you can get with MuseScore

Is it not possible to do SSAATTBB?

Sure, you can have as many *staves* as you want. Just not more than four voices *per staff*. Nor would you ever normally need more. Vocal music is rarely written more than two or three voices on a staff.

I originally chose 6 staves labelled "voice". I could write musical notation on each staff but couldn't write in the lyrics on the bottom two staves. I got past this by choosing soprano twice, mezzo twice and so on. Later I changed the label of each staff to a number from 1 to 6.

What went wrong when you tried to attach lyrics to notes on the bottom two staves? No reason that shouldn't have worked. Can you attach that version of the score?

I figured it out. I needed to change the page style to reduce the V-frame upper margin and the music lower margin. The reason it was not working was because the page wasn't big enough. Speaking of pages, is there a way to adjust the page to 60% as opposed to 50%?

What do you mean? 60% of what?

On the toolbar between the "redo" and speaker icons is a box where you can choose what size the page appears on your computer screen. The choices run from 100% to 1600%. On my computer 75% is too big for me to work on the whole page and 50% is too small.

Depending on your OS and your computer configuration, you should be able to use standard sizing mechanisms like pinching a touchpad, mouse wheel, etc.
But I would never work as small as you as suggesting. I like to work at 100% or larger. It's easy enough to drag the page around; there is no reason you normally need to see it all at ocne. Only at the very end, maybe, when you are checking system layout, and then, it doesn't really matter if it's a too small to actually read.

in that box you can manually enter different values too. And with Ctrl+mouse-wheel you can zoom in and out in finer steps
In reply to in that box you can manually by Jojo-Schmitz
I manually typed 60% in that box and nothing changed. I know what you mean about the mouse wheel but I use a touchpad. I am most interested in seeing the whole page. When I transcribe rounds, I am copying chunks of music and placing them on different staves. Regardless, this program is great. I attempted to use LilyPond but didn't get very far.

The number box doesn't work for me either. Might be OS-specific. But as i wrote before, pich should work with a touchpad. If not, maybe check your touchpad settings on your OS.
I got it to work by using Soprano x 2, Mezzo x 2 and Alto x 2. I also started adding text from the bottom Now I need to delete the two measures but keeping the original measure the same size.
In reply to Got it to work! by Ravenscroft
In menu item Style / Edit General Style / Page, set the 'Last system fill threshold' to a higher value, say 90%, so the original measure(s) won't stretch across the page.
See:
http://musescore.org/en/handbook/layout-and-formatting#Style---Edit-Gen…
Another possibility is to append a horizontal frame to 'push' the measures back to where you want them using: Create / Measures / Append Horizontal Frame.
Regards.

Thank you - your first suggestion worked great. The link was also very helpful. I was able to change the different voices into numbers which is what I wanted all along and move the staff closer to the title.
