Version 1.3 for Vista
I downloaded vsn 1.3 for Windows Vista.
If I open MuseScore in VISTA then select an MXL file the file opens correctly.
But if I try to open the MXL and "Browse" to MuseScore\bin\mscore MuseScore doesn't open and is not added to list of files.
However, if I install the SAME "Vista" version of Musescore on a Windows 7 computer "open with" works correctly. It appears that selecting the Vista version actually downloads the Windows 7 version.
Do you have a solution please?
PS. I love your programe

As far as I know there is no Windows 7 versus Vista version - there is one Windows version for all variations.
What you are describing appears to me a difference in how your Windows systems are configured. Even though I have used Windows for decades (!), I'm still not enough of a guru to say what might be going wrong.

Have you checked the association File / Program?
(right-click on the file - open with)
On my PC (Vista +1.3) works.
If you want to attach here
the MXL *
We take a look

1) mxl does not appear in Control Panel - Default Programs - Set Association list
2) MXL Openwithlist item C is mscore.exe
3) HKCR MLX default is reg_sz mxl_auto_file
4) mxl_auto_file correctly points to mscore but OPEN incorrectly points to MusicNotes.
Apparently MuseScore installation didn't change this.
Will try to edit registry
Vista is badly broken - everyone knows that!
Microsoft has entered the first phase of ceasing support for it so you should start thinking about changing to another OS.

I bought upgrade to Win 7 over two years ago but there was a problem with "Services"
Seems Acer inadvertently installed an unused Service which didn't affect Vista.
However, Win 7 upgrade finds this service and tries to install it in Win 7 resulting in BSOD.
I lost the fix that was posted for this and Google can't find it!
