Musescore crashes when I try to create pickup measures
I have a piece in 3/4 time, but I want the first measure to be a pickup measure with only 1 beat. Whenever I change the actual value of the measure in the measure properties window from 3/4 to 1/4, Musescore crashes instantly.

I'm guessing you are on MacOS Mavericks? Lots of people seem to be having this and other problems since that update. Uninstalling MusEScore 1.3 and installing 1.2 seems to work around it.

Nope, this is one of the bugs I have on my 2.0 list. Create any new score (3/4, 4/4, 5/4, doesn't matter), select the first measure and change it to 1/4, OK, crash.
Win 8 64-bit.

Not here, Win7 64bit. Self build 448c2cf

Can't make it work, same self-build 448c2cf, removed all user files. Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Crashes modifying measure 1 in the Promenade score as well.
In reply to Can't make it work, same by schepers
Indeed, with Promenade it crashes
Debug: insertTime -1920 at tick 480 (...\MuseScore\libmscore\score.cpp:3488, void Ms::Score::undoInsertTime(int, int))
Debug: TDuration(5/4): not implemented (...\MuseScore\libmscore\durationtype.cpp:431, Ms::TDuration::TDuration(const Ms::Fraction&))
Strange enough the next line (line 432 in durationtype.cpp)h as a commented abort()
However; changing to a supported type like 3/4 crashes too
Reported: #25165: crash when changing 1st measure to a pickup measure
Using Musescore 1.3
Pickup is 1/4 note.
Final bar should be 3 x 1/4
When I try to change final bar to 3 beats = crash
Any fix on this?

Does downgrading to MuseScore 1.2 help?
In reply to You're on Mac OSX Mavericks? by Jojo-Schmitz
I have this problem too using Mavericks. I set up new score with the pickup measure. At the end of the piece when I try to change the Measure Properties Measure duration it crashes.

then here too the question: does it help to downgrade to MuseScore 1.2?
In reply to then here too the question: by Jojo-Schmitz
Sorry, I did not, I have other scores that use 1.3 features. That said, I have used the feature in the past successfully, probably on 1.2.
In reply to Sorry, I did not, I have by kerfuffle
There is no new feature in 1.3 (that wasn't in 1.2 already), just some bug fixes.
See http://musescore.org/nl/developers-handbook/release-notes/release-notes…

Here is a link to a score I transcribed which I uploaded on August 13th, 2013. I successfully used the feature then: http://musescore.com/user/55939/scores/121950#
I am working on transcribing a score today and I am unable to change measure duration for the last measure.
I couldn't say what is causing the program to crash. I'm attaching the score if you are interested in seeing if you can duplicate the crash on your end. Let me know if I should send the error report.

works fine in MuseScore 1.3 on Windows (7 Enterprise 64bit).
There are apparently some Problems with MuseScore 1.3 on Mavericks, which vanished when falling back to MuseScore 1.2, so just give it a try.
Attached the score with 3/4 last measure.

That was very kind of you, thank you.
