No Audio Output from MuseScore
Hi,
I have tried using MuseScore 1.3 in Ubuntu Studio 14.04 x64. I can get audio out of other apps just fine, but cannot from MuseScore. when I run it from the terminal I get these messages:-

Is this anything to do with it? I've tried just about every combination in the I/O tab of Preferences.
Does anybody have any ideas? I'm really stuck. Tried several solutions I've found on the web, but to no avail.
Thanks in advance,
petemaxi.
Comments
maybe try 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure alsa'
and 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure alsa-utils'
Can you point out which solutions you already tried?
Hi,
ALSA is working fine for everything else, so don't really want to mess with that.
Tried the advice from this post:-
http://musescore.org/node/13278
but to no avail. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MuseScore, but to no avail.

Hi,
I think I've solved my own problem, but I'll post the solution in case anyone else has the same problem.
When I tried using MuseScore, I had JACK and QSynth open and they were using the connection to my soundcard. If I reboot, don't start QJACKCtl or QSynth, In MuseScore Preferences I/O pane, my sound card now shows up, and I can use it as my output. The only problem being I can't use MuseScore and QJACKCtl & QSynth at the same time, but that isn't a major problem, just wish I didn't have to reboot every time, even logging out won't work. If I've had QJackCtl and QSynth running, even if I close them, the sound card is still not available for MuseScore.
Hope this is of help,
petemaxi
This is how i fixed it. Edit tab then go to I/O tab than to the Portaudio portion of I/o.
have api set to pulseaudio and set device to pulse. That seemed to solve my problem atleast for now until a fix is found.
