A good, free midi player, anyone?
Hello everyone
I'm transcribing music for a choir I sing in, and I use one instrument (Grand Piano) with two bars and two voices per bar. However, some colleagues use a midi player called Anvill Studio, which requires each voice to be assigned a different instrument in order to be able to control the volume of individual voices. I could make individualised copies for these people, but I was wondering:
Do you know of a free midi player for Windows that can control the volume of individual voices?
Thanks
Samuel

Why not 4 instruments (SATB)?
You can hide 2 of them

This looks very interesting, thanks. Where can I learn how to do that?

Download the score;
Press' I' and tick' visible'.
With Filter (F6) select Voice 2;
From Inspector (F8) uncheck' play'.

When creating a closed SATB score, use Voices 1 and 2 for Soprano and Alto parts on the top staff, and use Voices 1 and 2 on the bottom staff for Tenor and Bass parts

Thanks, I think I figured it out. The trick with creating two invisible staves that contain a copy of voice 2 of SA and TB works well. I just have to remember that updating voice 2 in SA or TB won't actually play the updated sound :-)
