China Cymbal (And other Instruments) in Drum set?
I've been trying to find a china cymbal to include in a piece I'm composing, and I can't seem to find it in the drum set... Is there a specific one I'm overlooking or is the china cymbal nonexistent in the drum set?

If you are using Musescore 2.0 or lower, I don't think you can do this. If you are using Musescore 2.1, you are in luck!
To do this, press "n" to start notating your percussion part. You'll see the list of percussion instruments at the bottom of your screen. beside them on the left side is a button "Edit Drumset." Click on this. Now, scroll down the page until you find the number "52." This is the midi number for a Chinese cymbal. Give it a title, and edit it however you like. Press "apply" and "ok" and you're ready to go.
Here is the full list of midi numbers for percussive instruments:

Hope this helps!

I tested number 52, and it makes the sound similar to a sort of low drum.

Yeah, same. It sounded like a tom-tom instead of a cymbal.

Half the world uses MIDI program numebrs starting with 0; the other half starting with 1. Thus, any list of numbers you see might be off by one in either direction from what the synthesizer you are using is expecting.
But I'm confused, because MuseScore 2.1 already defines Chinese Cymbal as pitch 52, and it works just fine, at least with the default soundfont. So it seems you might either be using a non-standard soundfont - in which case you'll have to consult the documentation for that soundfont to figure out what number to use - or else might doing something else wrong. In order to help further, we would need you to attach your score so we can understand better.

After doing some experimenting, I found that the drum-like sound that comes from what would normally be the Chinese cymbal is limited to the provided Percussion parts in a concert band template (percussion 1 and 2). A manually inserted drumset part creates the desired sound, but changes the sound of the snare and bass drums into the kinds used in a drumset rather than the desired concert sounds. A solution to this would be nice.

Ah, yes, the concert band template uses the "orchestra kit", which I suspect is not GM-compliant but instead uses its own unique assignments. I am not so familiar with these as with GM, so I can't advise well.
