Permanently sustained pedal in piano playback?
Does anyone know how to make MuseScore play its piano with a sustained pedal without the need for a pedal line? This would be extremely useful for composing minimalist works and/or Tone Clouds where there is no need for a pedal line because the pedal is just held throughout the entire composition (which is usually indicated with "con Ped." at the beginning of the piece).
Since staff text can change MIDI channels and/or instruments, can it also toggle the pedal?

Select the entire line of music, apply a peddle line, select it and press V to make it invisible.

I know I can do that. The problem is, whenever I add at least one measure, there doesn't seem to be a way to extend the pedal line, and certainly not if it crosses systems. And I wouldn't really like to place a pedal line every time I want a playback test just to delete it afterwards. What I'm looking for is some way to toggle the pedal, rather than activate it temporarily.

Sorry, select the entire staff, I said the wrong word. The pedal line will wrap to the next system. If you add measures after you insert the pedal line, double click the line and press shift+right arrow to extend it to the next measure. If you do this before you enter notes in the measure it will go a measure at a time, otherwise it will go a note at a time. It's easiest to wait until the entire part is complete so there is no need to extend the line.

Thanks, this should do. I didn't know about this way to extend lines, I would always just delete the original line and make a new one that's longer.
