How can I notate a drone?
I'm creating some scores that will have various drones (usually a guitar) that run for lengthy sections of a piece. I haven't been able to figure out how to create something like this, any ideas or suggestions?

Do you mean something like this (see the example picture of "Yankee Doodle")?:

Nothing special involving. If it's a very long help note, simply enter whole notes (or whatever value fills your measure depending on time signature) tied together. if it's a pattern that repeats, enter the pattern once normally and copy and paste it over and over. The shortcut "R" simplifies this.
I usually just write a whole note with a fermata and the word "drone" next to it. Of course that is just notation and doesn't help out with playback. :)
