no sound (i know this topic shows up like a period.... but nothing really helped)
Last week, our family migrated from windows to Mac, with MacBook Pro for my hubby, MacBook Air for my daughter and a nice pink small MacBook for myself.
All freshly with High Sierra updated.
And all have installed the musescore latest 2.1
Then, while the Pro and the Air both having everything working just fine, with exactly the same install package file, there is no sound on my 12" MacBook.
The funny thing is, if I enable the metronome while play, I can hear the dong-tick-tick-tick...... (I hope this clarify the sound source mute...etc confusions)
The FluidR3Mono_GM.sf3 is showing fine as the other two.
strange, all freshly installed OS, with the same install package.
(well, my macbook and the pro has Microsoft Office 2016, while the Air has 2013)
then we have installed Chrome and Firefox.....
That is about it.
Is there a solution for this problem now?

My MacBook has the same issue.
Fortunately there is a workaround. If you start MS with the earbuds plugged in the sound will work - and then if you unplug the earbuds it will continue to work through the speakers. This is in several people's experience, including mine.
From various postings it looks like this MS problem is understood and nearly fixed.
Another way to go would be to downgrade to version 2.0.3 but I prefer to live with the workaround for now.

Important to plug in the earbuds before you start the program.

Thank you so much for this, and I hope there will be a fix for this within the program soon.

Try the latest development build for 2.2 from https://musescore.org/en/download#Development-builds, this issue should be fixed in cae320e (master) and 596f6c2 (2.2)
