Tempo is not applied properly
Message from the support:
"I am working on a score and I can't get the tempo to work properly.
It is glitching out. I have to edit the tempo text twice in order for it to
be accurate. And even then it doesn't work. Here is a video of the problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPHwVpho7Ls&feature=youtu.be
I used really big and small numbers to exemplify the point but even with
normal numbers like 120 and 112 it doesn't work. Please help!"
and the follow up:
"I restarted Musescore and it worked. I should have tried that first, sorry. However if I change the tempo and then hit CTRL+Z (undo) then the text on the tempo will change but the actual tempo won’t unless I edit the text.
Where can I post new features for the coming Musescore? Is it already too late for that?"

I believe it is a know issue that under some circumstances changes to the tempo are only taken after reloading the score.
OS: Windows 8, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (32-bit): 2.2.1, revision: 51b8386
Confirming the behaviour that undoing a change in tempo does revert the number in the tempo field, but not the playback tempo, even if the only sequence of actions is "change tempo" / "click outside tempo field" / "hit CTRL-Z".
The playback tempo reverts only after "editing" the tempo field (double-clicking and clicking outside suffices).
Confirmed as well, and it does indeed affect 2.2.

Note that this is not an issue specific to 2.1 or 2.2, it also applies at least to 2.0.2, consistently (I still use 2.0.2 and using the workaround Jojo said)
No doubt. Probably not worth calling "major" since it is a temporary glitch and it's about playback only, but doesn't particularly bother me to leave it that way either.

Hi,
I think most of the users have experienced this bug, without knowing it was actually one.
What I personally do, when I want to change the tempo, is:
1- Change the tempo on the score
2- Cut the tempo text (cmd+X, or ctrl + X, on whatever system you're using)
3- Copy the tempo (cmd or ctrl V) on the desire location, by selecting the first note on which it applies; it's probably going to be at the exact same position as when you cut it.
Then, the tempo modification will be applied on the score.
This is definitely not a good long-term solution for the next version, but it still works easily.
I've been doing this for a few years now ahah!
Tested on OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.0, revision: 8035689
Try jerdenberg scenario:
1) change tempo
2) click outside tempo field
3) hit CTRL-Z.
Results: works correct
