Note entry not working

When I click on a note to input, sometimes it doesn't allow me to input anything. Pressing a hotkey does nothing, and the taskbar is greyed out. Moving the note up and down with arrow keys moves the position of the note, not the note itself. Here's a picture of what I mean. The taskbar shouldn't be greyed when a note is clicked.

I would then click some other notes, and some of the other notes would not have this glitch; it's random which notes have it or not. Reopening the software sometimes helps, but after a few clicks the glitch is back.

I have used musescore for a long time, and nothing like this has happened before. Maybe it has something to do with the new update. I don't know. Has anyone else experienced this?
