You can't put it on the same staff, you have to put them on different staves. If you explain what you expect and what you need, there are ways to either actually put them on the same system or make them look like they're on the same staff. For example, if the same measure has both instruments, you'll need to give the appearance that they're on the same staff. If they never play in the same measure, then there are ways to hide staves and make them look like they're on the same staff. BTW, this will be greatly improved in version 3.
