Note heads and spoken words?
Hi
I went through the MS Handbook and did not find anything showing me how to have for instance a 'x' on a stem for a spoken word (instead of a lyric with a specific pitch) on behalf of a narrator, whilst the rest of the band is playing.
Could you kindly point me to it or assist?
Thanks
Peet

Viewed both links above - could not locate how to show a spoken note as initial poster requested. I saw something about "Ghost" notes but that was it. Where in these links is the reply to the poster, please?

In music notation spoken words usually are notated with a x-notehead, which indicates for singers, that these notes should be spoken. What's not clear for you?
