Instructions on how to use voltas can be found in the Handbook under Voltasm (eg, by clicking the link given above).

i don't see anything about different octaves

The only thing you can do with octaves both in MuseScore and a written score for live performers is put a note that the ottava is to be played on a specific repeat. There is no set way to do this, you just need to make it make sense to anyone who will play it. You have the options of using staff text, in which case it will never play with the ottava, or edit the ottava to read something like "8va second time only" in which case it will always play with the ottava. To edit the ottava, right click it and chose Line Properties...

Different notes, different octaves - doesn't matter. The same instructions apply. You put in the notes you want to be played the first time under the first volta, the notes you want played the second time under the second volta. If it's the same notes, great. Just put the volta on the the notes under the second volta.

ok but i want the notes to be in the same place

That's not what a volta is. As mentioned, there is no way to use literally the same notes in the same place and have the computer playback sound different the first time from the second. Voltas are a way to get that playback effect at the expense of the notated effect, if for some reason the playback is more than notation to you in this case.

Your score is the same way the publisher made it when Joplin had the piece printed the first time. I would just move the text so it's more obvious it goes with the staff rather than in the header as looks right now.
Just an idea: I never used this feature and I'm not sure if it would work, but maybe for your musescore.com account it's possible to upload a custom mp3 file, see: https://help.musescore.com/hc/en-us/articles/210260605-Send-to-YouTube
