The Problem With Strings!
It's really just a little thing, but I notice when an instrument is set to, say a violin, and it holds a note, it has the really, REALLY annoyingly strong vibrato effect, which just shifts the volume up and down, rather than the pitch, and it tends to ruin a sustained chord, especially if all the instruments composing the chord are strings, then it just makes it sound dumb, and wobbly! All I ask is a minor tweak, to make strings CONSISTENTLY sustain a pitch! I've included one of my songs as an example, which sadly suffers from the problem described above!

The problem is that the vibrato is included in the sound font. There is little or nothing MuseScore can do to eliminate this.
I have seen sound fonts that omit the vibrato. I can't think of which one right now. Perhaps one that Arrianna (sp?) made for Baroque music. Click the magnifying glass above to the right to search the forum. I would suggest searching for vibrato.
Vibrato is a common technique that many if not most real string players employ, but indeed, not all players in every situation. So if you have a situation where you prefer a vibrato-less sound, simply download and install a soundfont that does not use it. See the Handbook under "Soundfonts" to learn how to use alternate soundfonts.
