Midi controller

I want to connect my Novation LaunchKey61 midi controller or Yamaha MOXF8 synth so I can input my chords/notes, etc. I was able to that when i first hooked it up but it doesn't want to now. I don't know how to get it to work and i have looked in the online manual to no avail. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The important thing is to connect and turn on the keyboard before starting MuseScore. Also make sure you have the current version of MuseScore (2.3.2) as some older versions had a bug that could cause keyboards to stop responding.
