Make a triplet out of a 1/4 note just like you do on beat 1. The triplet will default to 8th notes. Press 5 followed by . and the note letter and you will have a dotted 1/4 note triplet you can put the tremolo on.
So the process is
5 ctrl+3 5 . A

I try with my English.......it's seems to me difficult to enter in a 4/4 measure 4 dotted quater notes.......4 quater notes yes. I think it's a simplification of writing, instead of writing 4 triplets of eight notes on 4 times, he writes only the first triplet and for the 3 followers, he only write a dotted quater note with the tremolo and sometimes the number 3. For the musician, we understand , we fill the whole measure with triplets, but, it is incorrect , a triplet of eight notes must be a quater note with tremolo and number 3 . But the play Back will be .......??

@Raymond, If you make a quarter note with a tremolo and and doted quarter note triplet with a tremolo you will hear the difference. For simplicity use the 8th note tremolo and you will hear 2 eighth notes on the quarter and 3 eighth notes on the dotted quarter note triplet. This difference is what is expected from the composer. Edit: I just looked and the OP is using the eighth note tremolo.

Perhaps I don't understand , I agree with you for the différence between 2 or 3 notes but my trouble is : How enter in a 4/4 measure 4 dotted quater notes ? it's too long !! Surely I miss something. Thanks.

You want 6 quarters in the space of 4.
Or 3 in the space of 2. So take half note as duration and make it a triplet. Then make dotted quarters out of the 1st quarter each. And then a dotted quarter out of the 8th after that.

To make the 4 dotted 1/4 notes, make the measure have 4 1/4 rest, select the rests and press ctrl+3 to make the 4 triplets. You can then start at the beginning of the measure press 5. and then the 4 notes you want. You must have triplets to do this. The editor stopped putting the 3 on the triplets after the first dotted 1/4 note. This is not uncommon.
I'm trying to correct a score that was created from a PDF where many of the eighth note triplet tremolos are messed up. I have followed these instructions, and unfortunately, there are several of these measures with the wrong number of beats:
Incomplete measure: Full score, measure 311, staff 2. Found: 27/24. Expected: 4/4.
Incomplete measure: Full score, measure 396, staff 1. Found: 330/288. Expected: 4/4.
Incomplete measure: Full score, measure 476, staff 2. Found: 444/288. Expected: 12/8.
Incomplete measure: Full score, measure 484, staff 3. Found: 888/576. Expected: 12/8.
Voice too long: Full score, measure 488, staff 2, voice 2. Found: 296/192. Expected: 12/8.
So, I'm having a heck of a time making it all work. Any ideas how to correct bars with the wrong number of beats AND eighth note triplet tremolos?

You have discovered one or many of the drawbacks of trying to import a pdf. Optical Music Recognition (OMR) is very imperfect. It seems to have particular difficulty with triplets and tremolos. It is very often quicker and simpler to enter the music from scratch than it is to correct the mess that OMR creates. It can be done but often relies on sophisticated and convoluted editing techniques, whereas most notation can be entered with knowledge of the basic essentials.
