More on beams... problems with pairs
I've generally got beams figured out in terms of removing them, or adding them back when needed, but this one is odd, and may be a bug? I have four sixteenth notes I want to beam in pairs. I can do the first pair. But, when I try the second pair, it puts a beam over all four. Don't want that. I've been playing with various options for half an hour now. Nothing seems to work. Here's the result. That second tied pair should also have a beam. Grrr.

I'm French so ..... when you have your 4 notes linked, click the 3rd and in the palette for beams, choose the first.

Merci! That worked.
It is usually better if you attach your actual score, not just a picture, as there may be things we can't tell just from the appearance. But assuming this 2/4 and that you didn't modify the default beaming, all you should have needed to do is click the A (assuming treble clef) and then double-click the "beam start" symbol to get what you wanted. As it is, it seems you must have used the "no beam" instead, or else you set the G to "beam start" or "no beam", thus preventing anything you do to the A from affecting the G. If you did in fact set the G to one of those, set it back to Auto. Or if you set all sixteenths to not beam in the time signature properties, then you'll need to set it to "beam middle".
If that doesn't help, please attach your score so we can understand and assist better.
