or else something like: https://www.jamorigin.com/products/midi-bass/#toggle-id-6
Which requires an audio/guitar interface to send the bass guitar's analog signal to the computer where some software performs a conversion to midi.
For bass guitar - because of its low frequencies - latency is a factor (especially for real time, live performance) because roughly half a wavelength must sound in order to identify the proper pitch of a note. Low pitched notes require more time because of longer wavelengths. High pitched notes - with high frequencies (i.e short wavelengths) - require less time to be identified/converted (low latency).
For purposes of note entry into MuseScore, latency should not pose a problem.
Regards, and welcome aboard.
(P.S. Then there is also the midi bass guitar - with switches wired to every fret - which behaves essentially as a midi controller/keyboard.)
Comments
If it is sending MIDI and has been plugged in and switched on before the start of MuseScore this should work
If you mean using a bass guitar to enter notes into MuseScore...
Since bass guitar output is analog, you'll need either some self contained hardware that plugs between your bass and computer (1/4" instrument jack x USB Type-B) and outputs midi info.
