Workaround: Using Irrational Time Signatures in Musescore

Hey everyone. For a while, I've really been wanting to use irrational time signatures. I don't think they're amazing, but they can make for an interesting composition sometimes. Unfortunately, Musescore doesn't seem to want to support this feature, and it's not without reason; irrational time signatures are quite frustrating to read. But for people like me who want to use these time signatures, it's a bit annoying that you can't use them.

However, I've come up with a solution. Here it is:

1. Open the Master Palette
2. Navigate to "Time Signatures"
3. Edit the display of the time signature you want to whatever you wish (in this example I'll use 5/12)
4. Change the denominator of the actual time signature to 4 and the numerator to whatever the numerator of your irrational time signature is (in this case the actual time signature would be 5/4)
5. Figure out how fast a quarter note is in your irrational time signature at whatever tempo you want to use. This is the hardest part. I want to have 60 beats per minute on a quarter note, and since my time signature is 5/12, each quarter note will be at 180 beats per minute.
6. Set your tempo to the tempo that you figured out each quarter note would be in your time signature, then click it and press V to make it invisible
7. Note your tempo that you would be using for an irrational time signature (in this case 60 bpm on a quarter note) somewhere in your score

It's an annoying workaround, but it actually ends up working. If you have any questions please ask. I'll link an example in this post.
