repeat sign within a measure
I want to input a repeat sign in between a measure, which will result in creating two incomplete measures. I tried to put the repeat sign in, the system doesn't seem to allow me to put the repeat sign in the measure. What should I do with it?

Could you please attache the score in your reply, you've trouble with. With your explanation I could imagine two scenarios.
To add a repeat sign for a single measure as you'll find mentioned here: https://musescore.org/en/node/279093#comment-872813 and it didn't work for you.
Or to add a two measure repeat sign as explained in this how-to: https://musescore.org/en/node/103336
Much better request. Just so you know, you it would have been better if you would have replied to any post in the other thread, but don't worry about that now.
It sounds like you want a repeat inside of a measure.
You need to break down the measure into parts so you can use a measure repeat like it's a repeat inside of the measure. If you have a single instrument it's easy. Click the rest where you want to place the repeat and use the menu Edit->Measure->Split measure before selected note. This will create two measures, one with the notes and the other with rests. If the measure with the rests is longer than the measure with the notes, you need to make rests that are the length that you want the repeat to last, then select the next rest and split the measure again. Don't worry about the barlines, I'll explain how to get rid of those in a minute. In the measure after the measure with the notes, insert the measure repeat symbol from the Repeats and Jumps palette. If your measure needs two or three of these you can repeat this process for multiple repeats.
To get rid of the bar lines, select all of the bar lines you don't want and press V. They will become invisible and not print. If they turn a light gray, they are invisible and can be hidden by removing the check from the menu View->Show invisible.
If you have a score with several instruments you will need to select the extra barlines and press V to make them invisible also. If the beams between notes are broken and you do not want this, select the first note in a measure and use the Beam Properties palette and double click on the note that has a beam on both sides of it. It's the second note in the palette.
Please ask more questions if you do not understand.
