Time Signature Change
Okay, so I have a simple melody line entered, beginning with a 6/8 time signature.
Partway through the song, the time signature changes to to 3/4 time.
The tempo I'd set at the first note, which initially played perfectly, then slows down to half speed or less.
What am I misunderstanding?

Hard to say without seeing the score. But 6/8 is "compound" meter and normally tempo is given in terms of the dotted quarter, whereas 3/4 is "simple" time with tempo normally given in terms of the quarter note. Depending on how you entered the initial tempo marking and how you entered the music itself, you probably would need to enter a new tempo marking at the 3/4 in order for the pulse to feel consistent.
