I've just figured out it was not "Ted" or "Teo" but actually "Ped" for pedal I guess !
What is the difference between the "ped" symbol and "ped simile" written ?
Just means similar, so continue whatever pedal pattern happened before
“Ped”, as you've found out, syands for Pedal.
“simile” or “sim” means carry on doing the same - it could be carry on using the Pedal in the same way, carry on with legato notes, etc. It saves on ink and time writing everything out in full when tere are a lot of measures done in the ame way.
I do understand. When I first started reading music as a child I spent years trying to figure out who the hell Leo was.
