Volta bug in Musescore 3.0?
I created a volta, and tried to edit it by right click/line properties, but the line properties option was not in the menu window that opened. Works fine in Musescore 2.3.2. Is there a different way to do it that hasn't make it to the handbook as of yet?

Select the Volta, open Inspector

I selected the volta, opened the inspector, found the way to change the volta text to 1-2, but I can't seem to find the right syntax to get the repeat list to work correctly.
I tried to have the first volta play through twice and then play the second volta the third time. I started with a standard first and second endings and Musescore played it correctly. I opened the inspector on the first volta and changed the repeat list from "1" to "1, 2" and changed the second volta to "3". Musescore plays the first volta twice and then quits. I think the repeat signs are correct, because Musescore played it correctly until I changed the repeat lists. I have tried multiple other syntaxes unsuccessfully.
What am I doing wrong?

the repeat list is a comma separated list of numbers, like "1,2". But you also need to change the play count of the measure containing the end repeat barline, here to 3, via right-click into the measure, pearure properties. Same as in 2.x (and 1,x for that matter)

Well, that worked, but it surely isn't intuitive. Rhetorical question, why do I need to tell musescore to repeat the measure 3 times when it only plays twice? Also, would it make sense to put this within the volta dialog in the inspector, rather than having to go to another place to enter the play count?
I never tried to do this in 2.x, and when I looked at the handbook (even the one for 3.0), what I was seeing didn't match what it said I would see (apparently the handbook for 3.0 isn't really out yet.) This is why I was confused.
Thanks so much for the help. Problem solved!

The group of measures are played 3 times, the specific volta is played only twice and the third time it plays the other volta.

It should better be a property of the end repeat barline. Or measure properties should also be available via inspector. But it is the repeat as whole that is to be played 3 times, the voltas come on top and tell which measures to play when.
Maybe MuseScore could get made smart and derive the play count from the voltas.

I agree it should be a repeat barline property. With randomly placed voltas being an option making MuseScore smarter is more difficult but not impossible.

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "inspector". I have the Dutch version and right-clicking the volta does not give me anything that looks like "inspector".
I installed Musescore2 again having no problems with the old version, but it does not accept or cannot read the partiture I made in Musescore3. So I am stuck.

Right click won't bring up inspector.

Press the F8 key to see the inspector. It changes depending on what you have selected and can usually change settings on the selected item including all options on a volta.

In Dutch it is called "instellingenoverzicht", the same shortcut is used to bring it up though (F8)
