I have some issues trying to use my USB Piano Keyboard as a midi device (it worked perfectly with MuseScore 2) :
1) it does not work : keystrokes don't edit notes on the score
2) when I try to disable then enable the Midi entry (by clicking on the midi symbol), MuseScore 3 crashes
I'm currently using Mac OS X Mojave (10.14.2)
I have attached the crash report.
Thanks in advance for your help !
Regards,
André

Hello, looks like I am having the same problem. Is there a solution?
https://musescore.org/en/node/285057#comment-899400 looked like this was the problem. Thanks!
So a duplicate of #285057: MuseScore 3.0.4 on macOS is crashing on startup.
Hi. New user, just downloaded the latest version (OS: macOS Mojave (10.14), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.5.21343, revision: 58dd23d), no upgrade.
Trying to get my Yamaha P-45 to work with MuseScore. I have set it up using Audio MIDI Setup on MacOS. When opening MuseScore, the Yamaha piano is selected in the midi input device of I/O tab in preferences, and the MIDI toggle button in the toolbar is active.
Nothing happens when pressing any key on the keyboard. If I try to toggle the MIDI button in the toolbar, the app crash when toggling back on. Tried the workaround in #285057 (disable "show startcenter"), but that doesn't seem to change anything.
App is fully functional (except from not recognising midi input), but crash when trying to toggle the midi button in toolbar.
Please let me know if you need anything else from me (crashreports etc).
It is a regression ans there is a workaround. And it still is a duplicate...
This time of #285693: Crash when enabling MIDI via palette button (Version 3.0.4) and #281867: "MuseScore quit unexpectedly" when closing MuseScore 3.0.[1-5] on macOS with a MIDI device
The workaround does not work (for me, that is). I can start the app (with or without the suggested workaround), but the app crash when toggling MIDI button in toolbar (with our without suggested workaround).
Anyway, I'll open a new ticket.
No need, it is a known issue
