customize time signature

Is there a way to use a time signature which is not in the palette?

I wanted to use 7/4. I have got round it by alternating bars of 4/4 and 3/4 but it's clumsy and I'm sure there is a way to do it properly.

I tried the online handbook, but searching for 'time signature' or 'customize time signature' didn't give me any help.
