Tempo won't change
All_I_Want_For_Christmas_Is_You.mscz I have an orchestral piece that varies in tempo but is mostly at 150bpm.
For some reason, the tempo is stuck at 120bpm for the whole piece and adding markers to change the tempo has no effect

Can you export the sound to an MP3, zip the mp3 and attach it here? You can't attach an MP3, but you can attach a zipped file.

Here it seems to respect the settings, try to close and reopen.
Edit: close and reopen in the event that you have inadvertently used the play panel

still seems to have no effect
It certainly does change tempo, starts with 145, changes to 120, then 150...

is that on the MP3?

not sure, but is on the score in MuseScore
Yes; Tempo stays the same. (120)
Workaround:
Delete Parts ...
Listen again. (without parts)
and rebuild the parts.
