MIDI Rest input in musescore 4

This has been brought up numerous times in many different forums, but to my knowledge has not been fixed yet. MIDI input still does not input rests like the rest of the note values, instead it just "toggles rest" but doesn't actually input it in the score. This was so seamless in musescore 3 and is such a pain in the ass in musescore 4, so much so that I use ms3 when I need to make a quick chart with all my midi mappings, and then I will upload it to ms4 to format. Without the ability to input rests with midi it drastically diminishes the usefulness of the midi feature.
