Rails in Musescore v3.x
How do you add above-the-staff rails in current versions of Musescore? I'm writing a timpani solo that uses 6 cymbals in total, and I can't figure out how to put them on the main staff, so I thought I'd use rails

I believe it's an MDL feature and that hasn't been adapted to version 3 yet. Someone will tell me if I'm wrong.
You can simulate this by adding a single percussion instrument above the timpani in the instruments (press i to see it) and then extend the barlines to the timpani by double clicking one and dragging it.
Rails as I understand them aren't a separate feature, just a clever use of an existing feature. As fr as I know they don't do anything you can't do by manually adding the instruments yourself and setting brackets as desired.
