Adjusting the range of instruments

I am arranging of music for recorders ensembles. But we are intermediate players and many have big problems with arthritis, so using all the fingers is difficult.

I flow them in with midi if I can find them. Or do it the long way if not.

I am delighted I have found out how to alter the range so it highlights more notes as needing attention. And I now also use the keyboard short cuts to shunt notes up an octive. I am not an arranger I am a computer operator!

The ability of musescore to change the key when you copy a part is amazing. Ie it will automatically change a Clarinette or Trumpet to the correct key. Fab!! Then a bit of transposing to use a different key we can actually play.

My daughter says it sounds different if you play in a different key, but I say it sounds different on a recorder anyway!!

But now we have so many lovely things to play!!

It is so important children learn to play recorders in schools, because then they will be able to have such a great time when they are mouldy oldies (senior citizens)!!
