Template opening the wrong clef for the instrument.
My settings: Windows 11 Version 2009 or later, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore Studio version (64-bit): 4.5.1-250800846, revision: 603eca8.
Hi everyone!
First, my question:
I created a template for electronic music in MuseScore 4. I’m having a small issue with the C clef on the third line for the Pad, which is a goblin synthesizer, one of the instruments. When I create a new score using the template, it opens the Pad with the G clef instead of the C clef I had set… Could it be because the Pad has default clefs preset to G and F? Is it possible to change these default clefs?
Second, just to satisfy some people’s curiosity:
Why would someone create a template for a style of music where most artists don’t even read sheet music?
Yes, I know that electronic genres are mainly produced in DAWs like Ableton Live. But:
1. I studied (and still study! :D) music theory and notation before working with any DAW.
2. One of my first compositions that I consider relevant — a synth wave track that I haven’t registered yet as I write this — was created in MuseScore.
3. In my country, to register a musical work officially, a sheet music version is required. Maybe I’ll offer this as a future service for people who compose in DAWs. Or maybe I’ll just want to keep composing in MuseScore, and having a genre-specific template will help me a lot.
I’d be really grateful if someone could help with the question I mentioned above.
Thank you!

Scores created from templates don't use the clef you set, but the default clef for the instrument
